Double denim per il mio secondo giorno di sfilate della settimana della moda newyorkese, in cui ho assistito agli show di Custo e di Giulietta.

Una tendenza che resiste all’estate e che nella prossima stagione si rafforzerà ancora di più, diventando un imperativo per tutti i fashion addict. Ma bisogna fare attenzione a mixare i capi giusti nel modo più cool, per evitare quell’effetto eccessivo e pacchiano alla Britney Spears & Justin Timberlake durante gli American Music Awards del 2001 (vi ricordate la celebre – ai tempi – coppia, vestita letteralmente dalla testa ai piedi di capi in jeans?!).

Ecco come ho scelto di interpretare io il trend denim on denim. Indossando una camicia vintage impreziosita da patches e dal taglio oversize, che ho infilato parzialmente in un cinque tasche dal taglio dritto, in modo da evidenziare un minimo la figura. Ho scelto di sovrapporre il denim chiaro sul denim scuro per dare un po’ di contrasto, mentre per le scarpe ho optato per gli stessi stivaletti beatles neri che ho indossato durante il primo giorno (se vi siete persi il relativo post e vi va di dare uno sguardo al look che ho indossato, cliccate qui: New York Fashion Week Day 1).

Come accessori, io e la mia partner in crime Laura abbiamo scelto di indossare occhiali da sole modello aviator con montature e lenti specchiate color argento, altro trend a cui proprio sia io che lei non abbiamo saputo resistere!

Double denim is emerging as autumn’s hottest trend, so I decided to try it out during my New York Fashion Week Day 2. The stylish way to wear it is to mixmatch different style and different colours of denim. So I wore a lovely oversized vintage shirt, embellished with cactus and flowers patches, that I tuck partially in a five-pocket pair of jeans, with the purpose of enhancing my waist and my figure. I chose to layer light denim on dark one to give some contrast, and for the shoes I opted for the same black beatles boots I wore during the first day (if you missed the post and you’d like to take a look on my outfit, please click here: New York Fashion Week Day 1).

For the accessories, me and my partner in crime Laura chose to wear a pair of aviator sunglasses with silver frame and mirrored lenses, another trend that both me and her couldn’t resist!

L'articolo New York Fashion Week Day 2 sembra essere il primo su DECISIONS ARE DECISIONS.

A Milano è finalmente giunta la primavera. Ed è anche arrivata l’ora di rispolverare dal fondo dell’armadio quei capi che nelle stagioni fredde non posso o non voglio indossare, come i miei amati Levi’s 501 bianchi. Di arrotolare l’orlo quel giusto, e portarli finalmente a fare un giro per la città. Ogni inverno seppellisco i jeans bianchi al fondo della piglia dei miei jeans preferiti, perché in quella stagione proprio non me li vedo addosso. Ma non appena le temperature si alzano sopra i 20 gradi mi viene voglia di ritirarli fuori. Per festeggiare il ritorno della bella stagione, delle giornate che si allungano e del sole che quando c’è rende tutti più allegri.

In questi primi giorni primaverili, ho abbinato i miei 501 bianchi ad una felpa Nike, sempre con un trama che richiama il jeans, ma di colore differente. Denim blue su denim bianco. I colori tipici dei cieli di questa stagione. Colori ripresi anche dalle mie nuovissime slip-on Vans (esclusiva di AW), che ho scelto per via della stampa che mi ricorda un arcobaleno di colori pastello. Questa è la mia interpretazione di uno dei trend di questa primavera, il denim su denim, che più sento vicino al mio stile. In effetti trovo più delicato il contrasto tra capi in jeans di colori differenti. Il denim su denim dello stesso colore trovo che faccia un po’ troppo un tutt’uno… Chissà, magari prima o poi mi ricrederò!

Spring has finally come to Milan. And now it’s time to pull my beloved Levi’s 501 white jeans out of my closet, to cuff ‘em as much as it is needed for a perfect fitting, and to finally take them for a ride. Every winter I bury my white jeans in a jeans pile and forget about them, because in that season I don’t really feel like wearing them. But as soon as temperatures rise above 65° F, I think about taking them out. To celebrate the return of summer, the days that are getting longer again and the sun that makes us all feel happy.

In these first days of spring, I paired my 501 white jeans with a shirt, also made by denim, but of a different color. Blue denim on white denim. Two typical colors of the spring skies. I added my brand new slip-on Vans (an exclusive of AW), which I’ve chose because of the print on them, that reminds me of a pastel colors rainbow. I played with one of this spring’s trend that I find closer to my style, the denim on denim. In fact I prefer mix-matching jeans of different kind and color, instead of wearing denim on denim of the same color… Who knows, maybe sooner or later I’ll change my mind!
