Riguardo nostalgicamente le foto della mia vacanza a Istanbul e mi chiedo perchè non esiste anche nel mondo reale la macchina del tempo del film “Ritorno al futuro”.

Ho trascorso momenti bellissimi durante la mia estate a Istanbul, per i quali devo ringraziare i miei tanti amici turchi. Sono loro che mi hanno pazientemente insegnato un po’ della loro lingua, così ora posso dire di aver parlato turco questa estate. Sono loro che mi hanno anche fatto scoprire la città da tantissime prospettive diverse, e facendomi assaporare ogni momento in loro compagnia. Loro mi hanno portato in giro per i bazars e le soho house dei quartieri meno conosciuti dal turismo di massa, di cui sono rimasto affascinato per vitalità, colori e profumi. Mi hanno fatto scoprire e apprezzare i piatti migliori della cucina turca, compreso lo street food, e anche semplicemente fatto gustare le spremute e i frullati di frutta fresca che si trovano un po’ ovunque sparse in città, oasi perfette per riprendersi dopo lunghe passeggiate sotto il sole cocente splende su Istanbul.

Il mio viaggio è stato reso speciale anche grazie a tutte quelle persone che l’hanno reso possibile. Grazie al Corinne Hotel per avermi ospitato in una delle loro meravigliose suite, dotata di una jacuzzi e una meravigliosa vista sul quartiere di Cihangir, il più libero di Istanbul, frequentato da artisti, intellettuali e bohemienne.

Istanbul summer memories. I’m scrolling the images of my past summer and feel so grateful for my vacation in Istanbul. I had a great time there and for that I have to thank all my turkish friends, who have patiently taught me a bit of their language, so now that I’m back, I can say I spoke (or at least I tried very hard to speak) turkish. They have also brought me around the city, in bazaars and soho houses that not everyone knows, because they are located in neighborhoods less known by mass tourism. They made me try and enjoy the best dishes of the Turkish cuisine, including the famous street food, and made me drink fresh juices and fruit smoothies to recover after long walks in the brilliant sun that always shines on Istanbul.

My trip was made even more amazing thanks to all of those people who have made it possible. Thanks Corinne Hotel for having me in one of your beautiful suites, with a jacuzzi near my bed and a wonderful view of the neighborhood of Cihangir, where lots of artists, intellectuals and bohemienne lives.
And finally I want to thank the Turkish airline Pegasus Airlines for having me on board of their aircraft off to Istanbul.

Oggi vi voglio mostrare una serie di capi basic che non possono mancare nel mio guardaroba estivo, che ho selezionato dallo shop-online di Esprit. Si tratta di 6 tra capi e accessori che mi permetteranno di creare infinite combinazioni di look durante la mia estate, rimanendo sempre casual chic.

1. Una felpa leggera di un colore neutro, con vestibilità regolare: perfetta per ripararsi dall’aria condizionata (che io patisco molto, soprattutto quando viaggio in aereo) o dal vento delle serate estive più frizzanti.

2. Una bermuda chino modello tapered, con lunghezza appena risvoltata sopra il ginocchio: quando sono in vacanza, non posso fare a meno di abbandonare i pantaloni lunghi e vestire le più fresche bermuda, avendo l’accortezza di scegliere modelli classici che mi facciano sentire sempre elegante.

3. Una cintura di pelle liscia color cuoio con la fibbia in metallo annerito effetto vintage: il mio nuovo accessorio preferito!

4. Un paio di comode sneakers rigorosamente bianche: sono il trend della primavera-estate e poi si abbinano veramente con tutto.

5. Un paio di occhiali da sole con lenti scurissime e dalla forma quadrata: irrinunciabili per ripararsi dal sole, dal mattino al tramonto, non mi vedete mai senza.

6. Una borsa da viaggio morbida, dalla capienza modulabile: ha le dimensioni perfette per poter essere usata durante i viaggi come bagaglio a mano, ma anche durante il giorno, se si va in spiaggia o si visita una città.

Today I want to show some of my summer fashion must-haves: items that can’t miss in my summer wardrobe. I have selected a few from the online-shop of Esprit. They’re are 6 clothing pieces and accessories, that will let me create endless combinations of looks for my summer, staying chic everyday.

1. A light sweater in a neutral color, with a regular fit: perfect to stay warm in air conditioned place (I use it a lot when I travel by plane) or in windy places.

2. A tapered chino shorts, that lays just above the knees: when I am on holidays, I prefer wearing shorts rather than pants, and I make sure to choose the classier models that make me feel always chic.

3. A belt of smooth leather with a vintage-look metal buckle: my new favorite accessory!

4. A pair of comfortable sneakers: gotta choose them in white ’cause is the trend of this season, and also because I can easily match them with basically everything that I own.

5. A pair of sunglasses with very dark square lenses: we have to protect our eyes from the sun, from sunrise to sunset… You never see without them.

6. A soft travel bag: it has the perfect size to be used while traveling as hand-luggage, but also during the day, if you go to the beach or visit a city.
