A febbraio sono stato invitato a St- Moritz alla scoperta della nuova collezione di segnatempo Montblanc 1858. Qui ho trascorso tre giorni completamente immerso nella natura, percorrendo per la prima volta una tratta in treno che era tanto tempo che volevo percorrere. Si tratta del Glacier Express, il treno che transita con carrozze panoramiche attraverso le Alpi svizzere da St. Moritz a Zermatt.

Last February I was invited to St-Moritz to discover the new Montblanc 1858 timepieces collection. Here I spent three days completely immersed in nature, traveling for the first time on a train route that I’ve been wanting to see to for a long time. It was the Glacier Express, the famous scenic train across the Swiss Alps.

Lungo il percorso ci siamo fermati a Morteratsch, a quota 1890 metri sul livello del mare, per iniziare il percorso di trekking di risalita verso il ghiacciaio (appena 35 minuti, accompagnati da una guida alpina). Lassù ho scoperto un panorama di assoluta bellezza, circondato solo dalle cime del Piz Palü e del Piz Bernina.

Along the way we stopped in Morteratsch, at an altitude of 1890 meters above sea level, to begin the trekking path to go up towards the glacier (it took 35 minutes, accompanied by a mountain guide). Up there I discovered a panorama of absolute beauty, surrounded by the peaks of Piz Palü and Piz Bernina.

Abbiamo poi proseguito verso Pontresina per visitare le famose e maestose cascate di ghiaccio e infine abbiamo concluso a Muottas-Murag, prendendo la storica funicolare che sale sulla cima dell’omonimo monte. È la più antica funicolare turistica della zona, data 1907, percorre un tracciato di 2201 metri e supera una pendenza del 56% prima di giungere la destinazione a 2456 metri sul livello del mare.

We then continued to Pontresina to visit the famous and majestic ice waterfalls and finally we ended in Muottas-Murag, taking the historic funicular that climbs to the top of the homonymous mountain. It is the oldest tourist funicular in the area, dated 1907, it covers a path of 2201 meters and overcomes a 56% gradient before reaching the destination at 2456 meters above sea level.

Nelle foto mi vedete indossare i nuovi Montblanc 1858 Geosphere Blu, caratterizzati dall’iconico ed elegante quadrante Geosphere che ritrae le sette vette più alte del mondo ed il Monte Bianco, indicate sui due emisferi terrestri Nord e Sud con altrettanti puntini blu. In the photos you see me wearing the new Montblanc 1858 Geosphere Blu timepieces, characterized by the iconic and elegant Geosphere dial that portrays the seven highest peaks in the world and the Mont Blanc, indicated on the two hemispheres, North and South, with as many blue dots. If you, like me, are travel lovers, you will be enchanted by the universal time function, obtained through the hemispheres at 12 and 6 o’clock. Dal 10 al 13 Marzo sono stato invitato a prendere parte alla Tel Aviv Fashion Week 2018, giunta quest’anno alla sua sesta edizione. Si tratta di un evento fashion dal richiamo internazionale, che sostiene uno dei settori più creativi ed interessanti del paese. Arrivo in Israele con un giorno di anticipo, proprio per avere modo di visitare il più possibile e, soprattutto, anche Gerusalemme.

From 10 to 13 March I was invited to Tel Aviv Fashion Week 2018, now in its sixth edition. It is a fashion event with an international appeal, which supports one of the most creative and interesting sectors of the country. I arrive in Israel a day earlier, just to have the opportunity to visit as much as possible and, above all, Jerusalem.

Ho trascorso un’intera giornata, indimenticabile, nella Città Vecchia. Uno dei modi migliori per visitare Gerusalemme è passeggiare sulle sue mura: da qui si possono ammirare tutte le meraviglie architettoniche, le Chiese, le Moschee, fino a raggiungere uno dei suoi simboli iconici, di quelli che ti lasciano senza fiato. Il Muro del Pianto.

I spent an entire, unforgettable, day in the Old City. One of the best ways to visit Jerusalem is walking on its walls: from here you can admire all the architectural wonders, churches, mosques, until you reach one of its iconic symbols, that leaves everybody speachless. The Western Wall.

La distanza tra Gerusalemme e Tel Aviv è davvero minima: in appena un’ora di auto sono rientrato a Tel Aviv, giusto in tempo per il Galà inaugurale della Tel Aviv Fashion Week.

The distance between Jerusalem and Tel Aviv is very minimal: in just an hour’s drive I came back to Tel Aviv, just in time for the inaugural Gala of Tel Aviv Fashion Week.

Tel Aviv è molto differente da Gerusalemme. Fondata poco più di cent’anni fa, è una città decisamente moderna: è l’hub tecnologico di Israele, è la più aperta e tollerante, è ricca di grattacieli ma anche di spazi all’aperto, di locali e club.

Tel Aviv is very different from Jerusalem. Founded just over a hundred years ago, it is a modern city: the technological hub of Israel, the most open and tolerant city, full of skyscrapers but also of open spaces, cafès and clubs.

Il giorno successivo ho avuto modo di conoscere Motty Reif, direttore creativo e produttore della Settimana della Moda di Tel Aviv, che ha presentato il concept di quest’anno, incentrato sulla diversità: “Nel 2018 apriamo la Fashion Week con il tema dell’ideale di bellezza che cambia per la prima volta in Israele e nel mondo.  Modelle e modelli di tutte le età, le taglie, le altezze, etnie e religioni  partecipano all’evento. La Tel Aviv Fashion Week sostiene un’idea di bellezza basata sulla diversità che sarà presente in molte delle presentazioni”. E così è stato. Dalle linee pulite di Adi Benjo e di Ariel Bassan allo stile più contemporaneo di Lara Rosnovsy x Magnolia fino alle proposte più couture di Shahar Avnet e Dror Kontento. Molto il talento espresso sulle passerelle di Hatachana Compound, quartiere all’estremo Sud della città che ha ospitato la manifestazione.

The following day I got to know Motty Reif, creative director and producer of Tel Aviv Fashion Week, who presented the concept of this year, focused on diversity: “In 2018 we’re opening Fashion Week in the theme of the changing beauty ideal, for the first time in Israel and abroad. We have models, male and female, of all ages, sizes, heights, colors and religions participating here. Tel Aviv Fashion Week will uphold a diverse beauty ideal which will be present throughout many of the exhibitions here”. And so it was. From the clean lines of Adi Benjo and Ariel Bassan to the more contemporary style of Lara Rosnovsy x Magnolia up to the more couture proposals of Shahar Avnet and Dror Kontento. Much talent I saw on the catwalks of Hatachana Compound, a district in the extreme south of the city that hosted the event.

Tra una sfilata e l’altra ho avuto modo di visitare Jaffa: antico porto commerciale della città, oggi centro di artisti e mercanti, pieno di negozi di spezie e di antiquariato, di librerie, di gallerie d’arte e di caffè, dove fermarsi per una sosta, nel mio caso, a base di succo di melograno.

Between a show and the other I had the opportunity to visit Jaffa: the city’s old commercial port, today a center for artists and merchants, full of spice and antique shops, bookstores, art galleries and cafés, where to stop for a break, in my case for a delicious pomegranate juice.

Sono appena rientrato dalla Thailandia. Un paese che da sempre mi affascinava e che ora, grazie a Qatar Airways, ho avuto la l’opportunità di scoprire. Il mio è stato un tour abbastanza inedito: la Thailandia è enorme, e nei miei 5 giorni mi sono concentrato sulla zona occidentale dal paese. Partendo dall’estremo Nord di Chiang Mai ho tagliato l’intero paese in direzione Sud, fino alla spiaggia di Pattaya.

Ho volato su Milano Malpensa con scalo a Doha prima di raggiungere Chiang Mai, prima tappa dei miei 5 giorni in Thailandia. Ad accogliermi al mio arrivo la mattina presto un piacevolissima temperatura di 28°C ed il mio primo massaggio thai, perfetto per tonificare i muscoli dopo il lungo volo. Dopo il massaggio partiamo alla scoperta dei templi. Wat Umong, Wat Phra That Doi Suthep Wat Kedkaram, Wat Chiang Man, Wat Chedi Luang, Wat Pra Singha e infine Wat Srisupan sono solo alcuni dei 300 templi che la città ospita, e sicuramente tra quelli più maestosi. Una full immersion nella cultura di questo paese, tra usanze e tradizioni.

I’m back from Thailand. A country that has always fascinated me and that now, thanks to Qatar Airways, I had the opportunity to discover. I did kind of an unusual tour: Thailand is huge, and in my 5 days I focused on the western part of the country. Starting from the far north of Chiang Mai, I went down to Pattaya beach.

I flew from Milan Malpensa with a stopover in Doha before reaching Chiang Mai, the first stop of my 5 days in Thailand. To welcome me on my arrival early in the morning a pretty good temperature (28° C) and my first thai massage, perfect for toning the muscles after the long flight. Shortly after we left to discover the temples. Wat Umong, Wat Phra That Doi Suthep Wat Kedkaram, Wat Chiang Man, Wat Chedi Luang, Wat Pra Singha and finally Wat Srisupan are just some of the 300 temples that the city hosts, and certainly among the most majestic ones. A full immersion in the culture of this country, between its customs and traditions.

A pranzo vedevo l’ora di assaggiare uno dei piatti tipici della cucina thailandese: il pad thai, che ora è diventato il mio nuovo cibo preferito. Per la cronaca, si tratta di un piatto gluten-free: spaghetti di riso saltati con verdure, germogli di soia, uova e poi a scelta pollo, gamberetti oppure tofu.

Il giorno successivo è dedicato alla scoperta della comunità di Baan Pong-Huai Lan Village. Si trova a circa 25 km dalla città di Chiang Mai: svetta tra le colline ed è circondata da coltivazioni di riso. Un luogo di straordinaria bellezza, ma non solo. Nel 2012 è stata premiata come “Sufficient Economy” ovvero come comunità economica autosufficiente, grazie ad progetto di sviluppo con cui il re ha fornito agli abitanti del villaggio fonti sostenibili di cibo, reddito e conoscenza. E’ così diventata un modello di turismo per tutto il paese: qui è possibile vivere proprio come i locali, scoprendo le loro abitudini alimentari, come coltivano la terra e i loro usi e costumi.

At lunch time I couldn’t wait more to taste one of the typical dishes of Thai cuisine: pad thai, which has now become my new favorite food. For the record, it is a gluten-free dish: rice noodles sautéed with vegetables, sprouts, eggs and then a choice of chicken, shrimps or tofu.

The next day was dedicated to visit the community of Baan Pong-Huai Lan Village. It is located about 25 km from the city of Chiang Mai: it stands out among the hills and is surrounded by rice fields. A place of extraordinary beauty, but not only. In 2012 it was rewarded as “Sufficient Economy” thanks to a royal development project which provided the inhabitants of the village with sustainable sources of food, income and knowledge. It has thus become a model of tourism for the whole country: here it is possible to live just like the locals, discovering their habits, how they grow vegetables and how their everyday life looks like.

Il terzo giorno ci spostiamo a Lampang. Qui vi consiglio di non perdervi il giro della città a bordo delle tipiche carrozze trainata da cavalli, sicuramente più divertente e caratteristico che il giro in auto. Situata nel bacino del fiume Wang, la zona offre panorami meravigliosi ma anche tante attrazioni culturali. E’ infatti ricca di testimonianze archeologiche e architettoniche che evidenziano l’influenza di civiltà antichissime. Una perfetta combinazione di cultura e natura.

On the third day we moved to Lampang. Here I suggest not to miss the tour of the city on board the typical horse-drawn carriages, certainly more fun and characteristic than the ride by car. Located in the Wang River basin, the area offers wonderful views but also many cultural attractions. It is in fact rich in archaeological and architectural evidence that highlight the influence of ancient civilizations. A perfect combination of culture and nature.

Tra i luoghi che mi hanno colpito di più nell’intero viaggio c’è sicuramente il maestoso tempio Wat Chalerm Phra Kiat. Si trova sulla cima del monte Pu Yak, arroccato tra cielo e montagne. Per raggiungerlo occorre avere la pazienza di salire una lunga scalinata in ferro, con circa 800 metri di dislivello. Una volta raggiunta la vetta si è subito ripagati dalla pace e dalla tranquillità che il luogo ispira. Che si sia religiosi o no, la visita vale decisamente la pena.

Among the places that have impressed me the most in this entire trip there is certainly the majestic temple called Wat Chalerm Phra Kiat. It is located on the top of Mount Pu Yak, perched between sky and mountains. To reach it you need to have the patience to climb a long iron staircase, about 800 meters in altitude. Once you reach the summit you are immediately rewarded by the peace and tranquility that the place inspires. Whether you are religious or not, a visit is definitely worth it.

Quarto giorno, quarta tappa. Torniamo a Chiang Mai per prendere il volo per Bangkok, dove non ci fermiamo (purtroppo, ma non c’era proprio il tempo) perché ci dirigiamo subito a Pattaya.

Nel pomeriggio visitiamo il monumentale Santuario della Verità, il tempio in continuo divenire. La struttura è interamente realizzata in legno lavorato a mano da artisti che ogni giorno da oltre vent’anni proseguono l’opera. Tanti i simboli che si possono ammirare intagliati: angeli, dei, animali e figure mitologiche che rappresentano ed invocano equilibrio ed armonia nel mondo. L’interno è ancora più suggestivo della facciata esterna, se possibile.

Fourth day, fourth stop. We returned to Chiang Mai to take the flight to Bangkok, where we didn’t stop (unfortunately, but there was not enough time) because we head immediately to Pattaya.

In the afternoon we visited the monumental Sanctuary of Truth, the ever-changing temple. The structure is entirely made of hand-crafted wood by artists who have been continued the work every day for over twenty years. So many symbols can be admired carved there: angels, gods, animals and mythological figures that represent and invoke balance and harmony in the world. The interior is even more impressive than the external façade, if possible.

Siamo giunti all’ultimo giorno prima della partenza. Una intera giornata di relax, sole e mare sull’isola di Koh Larn… Mi sono abbronzato in fretta!

The last day before departure was a day of relaxation, sun and sea on the beautiful island of Koh Larn … I got tanned fast!

Pattaya è famosa per la night life. Ci sono moltissimi locali tra i quali l’Alcazar, dove si può assistere a coloratissimi spettacoli di cabaret e balli locali.

Poche ore dopo mi aspettava il viaggio di ritorno. Ho preso l’aereo direttamente dall’aeroporto di Pattaya: Qatar Airways ha infatti inaugurato da poco la nuova tratta Pattaya-Doha e io sono stato tra i primi a provarla!

Pattaya is famous for night life. There are lots of places to go, including Alcazar where you can watch a very colorful cabaret show.

A few hours later the return journey was waiting for me. I took the plane directly from the airport of Pattaya: Qatar Airways has recently inaugurated a new route from Pattaya to Doha and I was among the first to try it!

Ci sono quei simboli della tradizione italiana che tutti riconosciamo e amiamo, la cui storia però conosciamo molto poco. Come quella dell’Amaro Montenegro, liquore che da anni e anni è simbolo di italianità.

Recentemente ho assistito alla proiezione di un cortometraggio, “La scoperta del sapore vero”, che mi ha fatto scoprire l’emozionante avventura del suo inventore. Stanislao Cobianchi è solo un ragazzo quando decide coraggiosamente di rinunciare alla carriera ecclesiastica per viaggiare. Intraprende così quello che sarà un lungo viaggio intorno al mondo, alla scoperta dei suoi odori, sapori e colori. Ritornato a Bologna, nel 1885 mette a punto una ricetta, la ricetta del sapore vero. Sei note aromatiche a cui si aggiunge, una sola goccia per bottiglia, un’ultima nota, la più importante, quella che chiama “premio”. La traduzione creativa di questa caratteristica viene rappresentata simbolicamente nel corto dalla lacrima della futura regina d’Italia, Elena del Montenegro, a cui Stanislao dedica il nome della sua creazione.

Le oltre 40 erbe, spezie e agrumi scelti da Stanislao provengono da ben quattro diversi continenti, e sono sapientemente selezionati e miscelati in un processo che è custodito segretamente e che, ancora oggi, è rimasto inalterato. Così come la bottiglia verde in cui è custodito, che nel corso degli anni ha contraddistinto l’Amaro con la sua particolare forma. Il suo successo fu istantaneo. Fu apprezzato anche dal Sommo Poeta Gabriele d’Annunzio, che nel 1921 lo definì “liquore delle virtù”.

Grazie alle sue caratteristiche uniche, l’Amaro Montenegro si presta ad essere un’ottima base per cocktail innovativi oppure si assapora liscio, proprio come piace a me, con un paio di cubetti di ghiaccio. Alla salute!

There are some symbols of the Italian tradition that we all recognize and love, but whose history is not really known. Like the one of Amaro Montenegro, a spirit since many years and years is a symbol of Italy.

I recently watched a short film called “La scoperta del sapore vero”, which made me discover everything about its inventor’s adventures. Stanislao Cobianchi was just a boy when he boldly decides to quit his ecclesiastical career to travel. He left for a long journey around the world, to the discovery of its odors, flavors and colors. Back to to Bologna, in 1885 he invented a recipe. Six aromatic notes plus one, the most important: the one that he called the “prize”, adding only one drop for each bottle. The creative translation of this note is symbolically represented in the short film by the tear of the future queen of Italy, Elena of Montenegro, who Stanislao dedicates the name of his creation to.

He selected more than 40 herbs, spices and citrus fruits coming from four different continents, and mixed them in a process that is secret and still remains unchanged today. Just like the green bottle in which it is kept, which over the years has characterized the Amaro with its particular shape. It was an instant success. Amaro Montenegro had also been appreciated by the poet Gabriele d’Annunzio, who in 1921 defined it as “liqueur of virtues”.

Thanks to its unique characteristics, Amaro Montenegro is a great base for innovative cocktails or you can drink it neat, just like me, on the rocks. Salute!

Un invito a Firenze per il weekend. Questa è la location scelta da una delle più rinomate manifatture di orologi di lusso tedesche, A. Lange&Söhne, per svelare al mondo le sue nuove collezioni di segnatempo. Esiste a Dresda dal 1845, ha subito una fase di stop durante le guerre ed è solo a seguito della caduta del Muro di Berlino che è stata rilanciata. Ora, ogni anno produce solo poche migliaia di orologi da polso in oro o in platino. In essi sono contenuti esclusivamente movimenti sviluppati in loco, la Sassonia, montati e decorati a mano con estrema ricerca e impegno.

Gli orologi di A. Lange & Söhne costituiscono un simbolo di prestigio e di raffinata arte orologiera. Chi indossa uno dei loro segnatempo esprime la propria passione per la meccanica sofisticata, il design classico e l’alta qualità. Per questi motivi non ho esitato a cogliere l’invito che mi è stato rivolto. Mi sono così diretto a Firenze per ammirare la nuova collezione di cronografi con quadrante blu, colore che da sempre ha affascinato i più grandi artisti e quest’anno anche i maestri orologiai di A. Lange & Söhne. Sono stati presentati due modelli a carica manuale, Lange 1 e Saxonia, e due a carica automatica, Lange 1 Daymatic e Saxonia Automatico, ora disponibili nell’elegante combinazione di quadrante blu e raffinata cassa in oro bianco. Pensati per i gentlemen dei tempi moderni, sempre attenti alla moda.

Altro momento cult del weekend è stato quello in cui è stato svelato un modello davvero molto speciale. Si chiama 1815 Rattrapante Calendario Perpetuo Handwerkskunst e rappresenta un vero capolavoro artigianale. Il quadrante e il coperchio del fondello sono realizzati in oro bianco smaltato in blu, sul quale spiccano le stelle incise in rilievo. Ma è il movimento che affascina, per la rara e interessante combinazione di cronografo rattrapante e calendario perpetuo con fase lunare. Oltre a indicare l’ora, il calendario e la riserva di carica, il cronografo rattrapante consente misurazioni di tempi intermedi e di cronometraggi in successione. Il meccanismo del calendario perpetuo indica correttamente la diversità della lunghezza dei mesi, compresi tutti gli anni bisestili fino al 2100. Sotto i piccoli secondi a ore 6 si muove l’indicazione della fase lunare, calcolata con la massima esattezza per 122,6 anni. Talmente prezioso, sarà prodotto in edizione limitata in soli 20 esemplari.

An invitation to Florence for the weekend. This is the location chosen by one of the most renowned German luxury watchmakers, A. Lange&Söhne, to unveil its new timepiece collections worldwide. Born in Dresden since 1845, it has undergone a stop during the wars and only after the fall of the Berlin Wall it has been relaunched. Now, every year it produces only a few thousand wrist watches in gold or platinum. They contain exclusively locally developed movements, in Saxony, mounted and hand-decorated with extreme research and commitment.

A. Lange & Söhne watches are a symbol of prestige and refined art. Thosewearing one of their timepieces express their passion for sophisticated mechanics, classic design and high quality. For these reasons I did not hesitate to accept their invitation. So I headed to Florence to admire the new collection of chronographs with blue dial, color that has always fascinated the greatest artists and this year also the watchmasters of A. Lange & Söhne. Two manual charging models, Lange 1 and Saxonia, and two with automatic charging, Lange 1 Daymatic and Saxonia Automatico, are now available in the elegant combination of blue dial and refined white gold case. Perfect for the gentlemen of modern times, with an eye for fashion

Another cult moment of the weekend was the one where a very special model was unveiled. It is called 1815 Rattrapante Calendario Perpetuo Handwerkskunst and represents a true masterpiece. The dial and the hinged cuvette consist of blue enamelled white gold with elaborate relief-engraved stars. But it is the movement which stands out with the rare and fascinating combination of a split-seconds chronograph and a perpetual calendar with a moon-phase display. In addition to indicating the time, the calendar, and the charge reserve, the split-seconds chronograph allows the measurement of lap times and consecutive times. The perpetual calendar mechanism correctly displays the individual durations of each month in the course of a calendar year, including all leap years until 2100. Integrated in the subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock, the moon-phase display is calibrated to remain accurate for 122.6 years.

Ibiza, una delle mete più ambite del Mar Mediterraneo nonché l’isola della movida per eccellenza. Lexus, la casa automobilistica giapponese che ha lanciato la tecnologia ibrida ed ecologica nel mercato delle automobili di lusso, diventandone il il quarto produttore mondiale. Mark Ronson, dj e produttore musicale tra i più famosi al mondo, oltre che vincitore di ben 5 Grammy Awards. Una combinazione potente dal nome #MakeYourMark mi ha portato a trascorrere un weekend a Ibiza a bordo della nuova luxury coupé di casa Lexus, la LC.

Rinomata per le sue strade costiere mozzafiato e per le acque cristalline, Ibiza è stata scelta da Lexus per una drive-experience molto particolare. L’evento ha dato a noi ospiti la possibilità di sperimentare la guida a bordo della coupè ibrida LC mentre si veniva filmati da una serie di telecamere, per un’esperienza di guida superiore, ancora più stimolante e completa. Dopo la guida siamo stati invitati a visionare in anteprima il nostro video personale e a creare la nostra colonna sonora utilizzando le basi musicali prodotte da Mark Ronson e prestate alla geniale app Novation Launchpad, una piattaforma che permette a chiunque di creare musica a suon di beat, bassline, melodie, canti ed effetti loop FX. Tutto ciò con i suggerimenti dello stesso Ronson in persona!

Per concludere la giornata, Lexus ci ha offerto una meravigliosa cena in una splendida villa da cui si godeva un tramonto pazzesco sull’isla!

Lexus ha rispettato una grande tradizione del suo paese, quella che in giapponese si chiama Omotenashi: l’arte dell’ospitalità, la magia di farti sentire dentro a un’esperienza speciale e darti la possibilità di vivere pienamente un’occasione che capita una sola volta nella vita… Grazie di cuore per avermi invitato!

Ibiza, one of the most beautiful destinations of the Mediterranean Sea, known for being the party island. Lexus, the Japanese automotive company that has launched hybrid and eco-friendly technology in the luxury car market, becoming the world’s fourth largest manufacturer. Mark Ronson, world’s most famous dj and music producer, as well as winner of five Grammy Awards. A powerful combination named #MakeYourMark has led me to spend a weekend in Ibiza on board of Lexus LC, the new luxury coupé of the brand.

Renowned for its breathtaking coastal roads and crystal clear waters, Ibiza has been chosen by Lexus for a very special drive-test. The event gave us the chance to drive the LC hybrid coupé while being filmed by a series of cameras, for a superior, more challenging and comprehensive driving experience. After the tour we had been invited to preview our personal video and create our own soundtrack using the music bases produced by Mark Ronson and given to Novation Launchpad app, a platform that lets anyone create beats, basslines, melodies, songs and FX loop effects. All this with the suggestions of Ronson himself!

To end the day, Lexus offered us a wonderful dinner in a beautiful villa from which we enjoyed a crazy sunset on the isla!

Lexus respected a great tradition of his country, the one that in Japanese is called Omotenashi: the art of hospitality, the magic of making you feel inside a special experience and giving you the opportunity to live fully an opportunity that happens only once in a lifetime… Thank you for having invited me!

New entry nella mia collezione di orologi: un modello di Henry London dallo stile vintage contemporaneo. Il marchio, che come potrete intuire è britannico, ha una storia particolare: prende il suo nome da un esemplare che i due designer hanno scovato al mercato di Portobello Road, con inciso sul retro della cassa “Henry, August 1965”. Ispirati da questo orologio e dal suo design elegante hanno così ideato la collezione Henry London. I cinturini sono in morbida pelle, come quello che ho scelto io, o in acciaio maglia Milano di alta qualità, con una vasta selezione di colori per entrambi i materiali. Quello che è il loro tratto maggiormente distintivo, ovvero l’elemento che più mi ha colpito a prima vista, è la cassa: tradizionale, in acciaio inossidabile lavorato a mano, in una ampia scelta di nuance ispirate ai colori delle diverse linee della Tube. Inoltre altro dettaglio che ho apprezzato è il servizio di personalizzazione, offerto sia nella vendita online che presso il proprio rivenditore di fiducia: il retro della cassa può infatti ospitare incisioni di iniziali o parole.

Tutti gli orologi Henry London sono inoltre resistenti agli schizzi e unisex, con misure che partono dai 25mm per arrivare ai chrono 41mm.

Anche l’outfit che mi vedete indossare nelle foto è volutamente british, stile che da sempre mi piace e che trovo mio. L’impermeabile è nella mia tonalità di blu preferita: è super leggero ma protegge benissimo dalla pioggia. Il maglione girocollo è anch’esso blu, così come il jeans regular che porto al di sotto. Si tratta di un total look che ho acquistato su Salle Privée, e-commerce olandese che vanta una bellissima selezione di prodotti di lusso. Infine, come scarpe ho su le mie sneakers preferite del momento: un paio di Vans in suede.

New entry in my watches collection: a contemporary vintage style model by Henry London. The brand, which as you might guess is British, has a particular history behind it: it takes its name from a watch that the two designers have discovered wandering around Portobello Road Market, which was engraved on the case back saying “Henry, August 1965″. Inspired by this watch and its elegant design they have thus created the Henry London collection. The straps are made of soft leather, like the one I chose, or high quality stainless steel Milanese mesh, with a wide selection of colors for both materials. What is their most distinctive trait, or the element that struck me at first sight, it is the case: traditional, hand-crafted stainless steel, in a choice of shades inspired by the colors of the different lines of the Tube. Also another detail that I appreciate is the customization service, offered in both the online sale both at the dealers: the case back in fact accommodate incision of initials or words.

All Henry London watches are also sketches resistent and unisex, with sizes starting from 25mm to the 41mm chrono.

Even the outfit you see me wearing in the pictures is deliberately british: a style that I like and that I wear a lot. The raincoat is in my favorite shade of blue: it’s super light but protects well from the rain. The round neck sweater is also blue, as well as the regular jeans I paired below. It is a total look that I purchased on Salle Privée, Dutch e-commerce which has a beautiful selection of luxury products. Finally, for the shoes I put on my favorite sneakers of the moment: a pair of Vans in suede.

Eccomi rientrato per il primo grande appuntamento di questo nuovo anno. Il primo dei molti treni che prenderò nel 2017 mi ha portato in direzione Fortezza da Basso, a Firenze. Al via la fiera Pitti Uomo 91: tanti i brand e i nuovi trend da scoprire in anticipo sul prossimo autunno-inverno 2017… Ecco il racconto del mio primo giorno!

In mattinata ho trascorso qualche piacevole ora nello spazio Tommy Hilfiger, dove tra le altre cose ho conosciuto lo stilista in persona e il modello del momento, Lucky Blue Smith. E’ la prima volta in assoluto che il brand sceglie la prestigiosa cornice del Pitti per presentare in anteprima le sue collezioni menswear e sono stato onorato di aver potuto prendere parte a questo evento!

Nel pomeriggio mi sono poi recato da Tod’s per l’aperitivo e per scattare un progetto speciale… Prestissimo ne vedrete le foto!

Veniamo ora al mio look. Per il mio primo giorno di Pitti ne ho scelto uno decisamente più casual rispetto a quelli che indosso solitamente in occasioni di questo genere. Tanto denim: jeans scuro ultra risvoltato sotto giacca ricamata e in una tonalità più chiara. Sopra ho aggiunto un cappotto grigio dal taglio classico ed elegante. La mia nuova cintura statement di Gucci e un paio di stivaletti Beatles in vernice hanno completato l’outfit.

Ringrazio con tutto il cuore Pitti Uomo 91 per avermi ospitato nella magnifica Firenze: è sempre un piacere per me ritornare!

Here I am, back for the first major event of this new year. The first of many trains that I’m going to take in 2017 led me towards Fortezza da Basso, in Florence. For Pitti Uomo 91: many brands and new trends to discover in advance for the next autumn-winter 2017… Here is the story of my first day there!

In the morning I spent a few pleasant hours in the Tommy Hilfiger space, where among other things I met the designer himself and the model of the moment, Lucky Blue Smith. It’s the very first time that the brand chooses the prestigious setting of Pitti to present the preview of its menswear collections and I was honored to have been able to take part in this event!

In the afternoon I then went to Tod’s for a drink and to shoot a special project… Very soon you will see the pictures!

Now let’s talk about my look. On my first day of Pitti I chose a much more casual outfit than what I usually wore on this kind of occasions. Lots of denim: a dark pair of jeans that I over folded on the bottom under an embroidered jacket in a lighter shade. Above I added a gray coat with a classic and elegant cut. My new statement Gucci belt and a pair of patent leather boots completed the outfit.
